This stainless steel scratter is a great piece of kit. We were surprised at how expensive it was, but it is cheap relative to the market and well made, so after researching we didn’t mind too much.
Only comments- funnel could be tweaked- as the drum filled (which quite often needed manually emptying), the funnel would spew the pomace out of one side, so a bucket under the funnel didn’t really catch it.
We found that leaning on the apples with a chopping board would speed up the job- maybe you could add a board with a weight on it?
Anyhow, we really like it, so thanks very much.

Does a good job of scratting, though you need to maintain pressure on the fruit to get a decent throughout. Also the sharp corners on the hopper caused a number of cuts. Can not comment yet on the longevity.

Definitely 5 stars! Thank you so much.

The scratter is great. Perfect for home brew cider, it devours the apples producing perfect ‘grated’ apples for juicing. Easy and effective. We produced our best Cider ever by using this.

I bought an apple scratter last year and have been very pleased with it. I’d give it 4 out of 5. A couple of niggling issues were the gap between the turning drum and casing seemed a bit bigger than necessary meaning some larger pieces of apple got through. Also the legs didn’t have feet with holes to fix it if required. Other than that though it’s been good so far.
