I wish we’d taken the plunge and invested in this press sooner.

The fruit press really needs screwed down to a heavy, immovable object (like a big tree stump) to work properly, otherwise the turning and tightening action required to press the fruit tips it over or revolves it round. Also, if smaller amounts of fruit are used (i.e. it’s not full), it requires the fashioning of more wood blocks to fill the space that’s not got fruit in it to allow the pressing to take place. Both of these issues can be solved with a bit of DIY, and once they are the press works very well.

It did the job, and is solidly built. I only press grapes from my own vine once per year, so it should see me out.

Really good quality and just as I expected it would be. I only had a few apples to press as I left it to late to order for the season and had to put in extra “followers” , as I was excited to try it out. Realise to be serious at pressing you need a ‘scratter” so hopefully I get one of those soon.
